A 10-Day Exam Prep Plan

4 min read · Updated 2026

Ten days is enough to prepare for most exams properly — if you split the time instead of cramming at the end. Here is a plan that spreads the work and keeps you calm.

Days 1–3: Map and collect

List every topic on the syllabus and mark your confidence (high / medium / low). Gather notes, slides, past papers and the grading breakdown. Low-confidence topics go first.

Days 4–7: Active learning

Work through medium and low topics using active recall and practice problems — not re-reading. Use the reading time calculator to budget readings, and the Pomodoro timer to keep sessions bounded.

Days 8–9: Mock and fix

Do at least one timed past paper under real conditions. Mark it honestly, then redo the questions you missed from scratch. This is the highest-value study you can do.

Day 10: Light review and rest

Skim summaries and your error list only. Sleep, eat and arrive early. Cramming the night before mostly adds anxiety, not marks.

Plan the score too: check what you need with the final grade calculator so “good enough” is a number, not a feeling.
Recommended gear: a magnetic whiteboard for your 10-day plan, and dry erase markers to keep it visible and current.
